Lake Tarleton and Lake Tarleton State Park are only a 5 minute drive from Breezy Woods. This is a 334 acre pristine mountain lake with incredible views of Mount Moosilauke and the surrounding area. There are only a few houses on the lake. It is 2,625 feet wide and has a mean depth of 28 feet with a large bottom area with a depth of 60 feet. This beautiful lake is carefully protected against invasive algae species such as milfoil. Please ensure your water vessels are well cleaned before launch.
Kayaking
Kayaks can be launched from the boat ramp. Please wash your boats before launching in Lake Tarleton to prevent the spread of invasive milfoil. Volunteers monitor the boat ramp for compliance to preserve the pristine waters of this spectacular lake.
Fishing
The lake is classified as a cold- and warmwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, and horned pout.
Beach
Lake Tarleton State Park offers an unguarded swimming beach and opportunities for swimming, canoeing and fishing. It is usually very quiet and often you have the whole place to yourself!
